Why am I a horrible troll?

I cant seem to get any thumbs ups on my questions. Am I really a bad troll. You see when I was a little boy I always dreamed of using false information to get emotions out of people because I hardly get out. I guess I, just a bad person. I never had any friends in my early childhood. I was born in a University campus and seem to have lived all my life in one campus or another. My family is from Dhaka - now the capital of Bangladesh. My ancestral home in Wari in "old Dhaka" is not far from the University campus in Ramna. My father Ashutosh Sen taught chemistry at Dhaka University. I was, however, born in Santiniketan, on the campus of Rabindranath Tagores Visva-Bharati (both a school and a college), where my maternal grandfather (Kshiti Mohan Sen) used to teach Sanskrit as well as ancient and medieval Indian culture, and where my mother (Amita Sen), like me later, had been a student. After Santiniketan, I studied at Presidency College in Calcutta and then at Trinity College in Cambridge, and I have taught at universities in both these cities, and also at Delhi University, the London School of Economics, Oxford University, and Harvard University, and on a visiting basis, at M.I.T., Stanford, Berkeley, and Cornell. I have not had any serious non-academic job. During three childhood years (between the ages of 3 and 6) I was in Mandalay in Burma, where my father was a visiting professor. But much of my childhood was, in fact, spent in Dhaka, and I began my formal education there, at St. Gregorys School. However, I soon moved to Santiniketan, and it was mainly in Tagores school that my educational attitudes were formed. This was a co-educational school, with many progressive features. The emphasis was on fostering curiosity rather than competitive excellence, and any kind of interest in examination performance and grades was severely discouraged. ("She is quite a serious thinker," I remember one of my teachers telling me about a fellow student, "even though her grades are very good.") Since I was, I have to confess, a reasonably good student, I had to do my best to efface that stigma. The curriculum of the school did not neglect Indias cultural, analytical and scientific heritage, but was very involved also with the rest of the world. Indeed, it was astonishingly open to influences from all over the world, including the West, but also other non-Western cultures, such as East and South-East Asia (including China, Japan, Indonesia, Korea), West Asia, and Africa. I remember being quite struck by Rabindranath Tagores approach to cultural diversity in the world (well reflected in our curriculum), which he had expressed in a letter to a friend: "Whatever we understand and enjoy in human products instantly becomes ours, wherever they might have their origin... Let me feel with unalloyed gladness that all the great glories of man are mine."As far as my principal location is concerned, now that my children have grown up, I could seize the opportunity to move back to my old Cambridge college, Trinity. I accepted the offer of becoming Master of the College from January 1998 (though I have not cut my connections with Harvard altogether). The reasoning was not independent of the fact that Trinity is not only my old college where my academic life really began, but it also happens to be next door to Kings, where my wife, Emma Rothschild, is a Fellow, and Director of the Centre for History and Economics. Her forthcoming book on Adam Smith also takes on the hard task of reinterpreting the European Enlightenment. It so happens that one principal character in this study is Condorcet, who was also one of the originators of social choice theory, which is very pleasing. Emma too is a convinced academic (a historian and an economist), and both her parents had long connections with Cambridge and with the University. Between my four children, and the two of us, the universities that the Sen family has encountered include Calcutta University, Cambridge University, Jadavpur University, Delhi University, L.S.E., Oxford University, Harvard University, M.I.T., University of California at Berkeley, Stanford University, Cornell University, Smith College, Wesleyan University, among others. Perhaps one day we can jointly write an illustrated guide to the universities. I end this essay where I began at. I hope you can understand that before responding. I hope you can also understand that you just got trolled and that I am not Amartya Sen. Ya

What is Gods sanction & punishment in Daniels Vision?

Sequel 6. Yesterday, the author Winston Kayanan has briefly proven that the world is misled into believing that reduction on GHG could eradicate global warming since the goal did not conform with basic sciences (biology, chemistry & physics) on nature. Just for a thought, one scientific fact is, at extreme hot conditions, the stomata of plants leaves stop taking CO2 & stop producing O2 (possible failure of plant forest scheme). Corollary to this, algae from dried wetlands similarly stop taking CO2 & stop producing O2. And in contrast, decay microbes from wastes contribute quadrillions of CO2 per hectare a day worldwide. Unknowingly, this is the primary & ultimate CO2 emitter in defense of billions of CO2 emissions from transportation & industries. As such, earth has a huge imbalance level of O2 for which we will surely experience "temporary loss or shortage of O2". Instead of O2 replenishment as the principal objective of UNEP, GHG reduction could not stop the occurrences of natural disasters. Thoroughly evaluating these phenomena, the common denominator is the lack or absence of O2 to mitigate their violent & deadly behavior. Thus, earth will un-endingly be pounded & trampled by the faults of UNEP in the environment. The consequence of faults (causing destruction & deaths) is naturally punishment and therefore, this will be the FALL OF UN. If only UN opened the door to the author in taking a look at the Philippine technology on 12-02-02, 11-03-03, 01-05-04 and 04-26-04, the overall scenario of history will be different. There wont be new ozone holes, lost of ice shelf, burnt forest, sudden death, deadly tsunami, mounting epidemic, etc. But the treaty was so strong, UN did not bother to restudy its sciences in order to rectify its position and amend the protocol. Instead, UNEP peddled & brokered hardware of emission monitoring gadgets, tsunami warning devices, etc., making earth a frankenstein against forces of nature and maybe, blaming God for such acts. People on the other hand are too naive, having no insight of what is going on. They are so dependent on their leaders and UN for they do not know that they were exploited and had become as guinea pigs. Once people have learned the truth, UN will reach its final limitations. People will begin to account for errors & faults. Tensions and social unrest will follow, expressing intense hate, resentment & bitterness. Persecuted victims (the sick, disabled, dead, displaced & homeless, loss of business & employment leading to bankruptcy & insolvency, etc.) from New Orleans (hurricane), Australia & California (fires), Myanmar (typhoon), Iran (quake), France (sudden death), Indonesia (tsunami), etc., will clamor for justice. In this vein, the 4th beast (ECOSOC) & the small horn (UNEP) will soon receive its fiery shame & humiliation for abuse of confidence, their fate of downfall duly ordained by God while the 3 beasts (International Court, Trusteeship & Security Council) will try to keep standing but will likewise end its existence for a determinate period. The author could have sued UNEP for negligence & dereliction of duty or prejudice & discrimination from 2002 to 2004 but now people can sue UNEP for murder & massacre thru reckless imprudence. God has already completed the list of those who will be saved and Jesus Christ (whom was unfortunately described by the Catholic Church as unknown & mysterious person, making its interpretation in the Bible false) is given the kingship to rule earth. Tomorrow, what will Jesus Christ do at the start of his reign. This was separated by God from Daniels vision so that no one can decipher the meaning of the prophecy completely.
Answer: The most important part of hermeneutics is to realize the scripture cannot mean today what it never meant in the past. Consider the audience that Daniel was writing to, would this really make sense? Keep the context of the message in mind, keep the author's audience in mind, and reference other literature of similar genre and time. That said, this really isn't a question at all, is it.

question of sincerity in solidarity?

concrete examples: a bishop speaks his concern about poverty but he has his own nutritionist for dietary purposes. but come to think of it: mother teresa, mahatma gandhi, bishop romero didnt have nutritionists.they faced their mission and their death. a priest talks about the economic situation, global awareness, migrant workers, but after the mass he will rest in his air-conditioned room. a president of a certain country is giving donations and raising funds for victims of calamities but this president cannot and will never sell his/her properties, haciendas, golf course, ranch for these people. now, we face the victims in china earthquake, the cyclone victims in myanmar, poverty in africa, human trafficking in vietnam. i ask myself, how, and in what way, can i express my solidarity with these people everyday. how sincere i am. its very easy to donate some money and after that you can go and drive your brand new BMW. is that real discipleship? friends, i will listen..
Answer: Sounds like a question I asked. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuQWj8fkO7jetg79J9T2dqPty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080426173042AAwE0Au If I could, I'd drop all that I have and go the way of the apostles and go to hard to get to places to spread the Gospel and to help out. Since I can not physically do that, I offer up all my discomforts and my illness, I pray a lot too. Every little bit does help

Do you have a minute to read over my honors college application, please?

We were supposed to write about a time we did community service and how that affected us. 250 words. As an American born Asian I did not have the chance to express my Myanmar (Burmese) culture. I had the opportunity to do this at the National Children’s Museum for Multicultural Day Asia with my two friends. My responsibilities were face painting little kid’s faces using ‘Thanakha’, a traditional Burmese face mask, and answering any questions the parents had about Myanmar. My favorite part about this experience was being able to spend time with my friends while helping out my community. It was a nice mix. I have acquired skills such as appreciation for all races around the world. The performances I saw were so amazing to watch. I have also gained the quality of responsibility. It was a big task for a fourteen year old girl. At the end of the day I enjoyed it. I learned that the Children’s Museum was a fun and educational way for kids. I also learned that all the other people that were also volunteering were just regular people wanting to help their community like I was. Even though they were strangers, they were not that different from me. Throughout this experience helping the kids was what made me proud. I did not get paid which felt like I was doing something great for the community. Although I would change things such as eating before I left because I was starving! If I was not there, there would not have been a Myanmar table. I made a difference to the program. That is what made me proud. If I had never went I would never have learned what a great community that we have. Tell me if I should change something
Answer: Omit "Myanmar". The word is usually used by supporters of the current dictatorship. The better word is the traditional "Burmese". "Burma" and "Burmese" are still used officially by the United States government as it is the official policy of the United States to support the name "Burma" which is used by the democratic opposition to the military dictatorship. Only 68 per cent of the people are of Burman ethnicity.

Why do Chinese people spell the sound /chi/ with /qi/, not /chi/?

Generally speaking, /qi/ is pronounced as /ki/ as in "Iraqi". But Chinese people usually spell the sound /chi/ with /qi/ like as in "Qing Dynasty", "Qingdao", etc. They also use "Nanking" instead of "Nanjing". I mean , they use /ki/ to express the sound /ji/. And this is another thing. Its not about Chinese. If you know the Burmese (Myanmar) leader of human rights movement, "Aungsan Suu Kyi", you might wonder why they spell her name like that. Suu Kyi is normally pronounced as /soo jee/, not /soo kee/, but why wont they spell her name with "Suu Jyi"? Does anybody know why?
Answer: Because "chi" and "qi" are two different sounds in Mandarin. "Chi" is like in English, while "qi" uses the front of the mouth (almost like "ti"). They also have a "sh" and "x" distinction ("sh" is like in English, while "x" is in the front of the mouth, almost like a "s"). They have to use odd letters because the "ch"/"q" and "sh"/"x" distinction is important to them, but we don't have a letter to describe it, so they just picked random ones. As for "Nanking" versus "Nanjing," there was a great shift in Mandarin pronunciation over the years, forcing them to rename their cities (like "Peking" to "Beijing"). I don't know enough Myanmar/Burmese to answer that other question, though I would guess they had the same sort of K -> J shift as China had. @ Liuzhou: Really? I thought a major linguistic change had occurred, and that's why they changed the names. (I was pretty sure I read that somewhere, but my memory isn't what it used to be...)

Situation in Myanmar, what ASEAN and UN should do?

So, I was reading the news lately and that the issue in Myanmar always shows up on the frontpage of different websites. I feel sorry for the people of Myanmar (monks, nuns and civilians). Theyre just expressing themselves peacefully and why is that the government always have to use force to these people to control their lives? The government is so greedy of the power and abusing it too much! So, I need your opinion about this issue. What should the ASEAN (Association of South East Asia Nation) and UN (United Nation) should do to stop this tyranny and oppression and help the people of Myanmar to have a freedom of speech and live their lives normally?
Answer: Not only ASEAN and UN but also all the world must discontinue diplomatic connection with Myanmar. Stop supporting of Military Government who use troops which was bought by tax from the people in Myanmar. Force to close diplomatic stations all over the world and take an action as terrorist. Arrest the worst terrorist Senior General Than Shwe and his followers. Save 50 Millions people in Myanmar.

Thoughts are a "Field of Energy" and so, with this premise...?

it seems to me that Burma and China got exactly what there thoughts are expressing: outrage and imprisonment by their OPPRESSIVE DICTATORSHIP GOVERNMENTS! The weather shows the emotinal turmoil of its citizens. If youve read any of the Quantum theories about energy, youll agree. So if China didnt treat the world so badly--the number one polluter in the world, and their treatment of their people is slavery--its no wonder they made the earth quake! Agree or disagree? Please give a real reason. I do not they are conscious of their thoughts and so they hurt themselves out of ignorance to being an enlightened, self aware individual--hence a nation of peoples. On Mothers Day the weather all over the world was a torrent? Why/ Because mothers has lost their way--working instead of mothering children; taking on male roles because men dont; and so on. Interesting premise....?
Answer: By the same reasoning, hurricanes like Katrina that hit the usa were created by its own citizens. Why would people do that to hurt themselves?

THE HOT-MONEY COWBOYS OF BAGHDAD

My friend, Iraq is a rich, virgin country! one of its richest men, Namir al-Akabi, told me with a startling enthusiasm when I met him earlier this year at his office in Baghdad. So the straight-talk express is full of lobbyists? Is that how "changing Washington" looks;) ?

Mccain, the crusader..blablabla. He employs many, many lobbyists...seems some have been asked to resign recently, too much controversy;) One of the lobbyists had Myanmar, the criminal military regime, as a client. The SAME regime who wont allow food and aid to reach the 100,000 victims of the cyclone. So exactly WHAT change is he going to bring to Washington? Scary.
Answer: straight-talk express just crashed

Opinions on manga storyline?

I am working on a manga storyline and just want people opinion on whether it is good or not. The story follows the life of a teenage child solider who is trying to fit into normal society. But he secretly is a thrill seeker and yearns to return to the battlefield. Ironically, his adoptive parents are arms dealers that adopted him only because the arms dealers wife insisted. Due to his adoptive parents connections, he regurly works as a mercenary depsite his parents scorns in many major and minor conflicts while his family and friends are oblivious to his actions. _Had a hard life as a child solider in Burma at the age of 6, his biological parents killed, forced to commit many atrocities and had the rule of survival of the fittest drilled into his head, but was eventually adopted by arms dealers who payed the corrupt officers a sum of money for his freedom. _He hates his adoptive father because he was the one that supplied arms to the very armies that killed his parents but is loyal and grateful to his adoptive mother because she is the only person besides his real parents that showed him kindness, his adoptive father sees him as another useful customer and gun for hire contributing to profits due to his profession. _He often brings the conflict home due to all the enemys he makes _Has no idea how normal life works so he wont hesitate to do something destructive (he beat the school bully and puts him in a coma on his first day of school and roots out every school bully) _Story arcs will take place in conflicts of different countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Europe, Africa and South America. (major arcs will be about the war in Iraq, Afghanistan and even world war 3 while minor arcs will be about wars in Africa, South America etc) _The story will have a dark tone and show the reality of child soldiers rather than making a romantic image. _He has no value for human life what so ever but does have standards (dont kill defenceless people for they arnt worth fighting, dont kill children, only attack when attacked and so on) _He will finally develops Post traumatic Stress and reflects on his actions after becoming a teenage father when he sees his baby son and finally understands the value of a human life. This story is still in development so there a lot of character and plot holes, but feel free to express your opinion. thanks.
Answer: I think the story is original. I like most of it, but some parts could be changed. The part where that arms dealer pays the officers is quite weird. I think there should be something different, such as his adoptive mother helps him after he has joined the army against the one that kills his parents. That is just an idea. I also think the ending is quite interesting. I think something major should happen to him before this such as his adoptive mother is killed by one of his "enemies". The overall idea is pretty good though.
