I heard that Malaysian rapper Namewee produce a song called Negarakuku which is this countrys national athem. Will he be punished if he returned to Malaysia?
Answer: Defaming own country is not a good idea and of coz illegal in Malaysia. however, he is in Taiwan. So, polices in Malaysia has no right to arrest him coz it is an act outside the country. I think only the enforcer of the Internal Security act can arrest. But, be frankly, what he sung in the clip is exactly the voice of the Chinese in Malaysia especially in the field of education. Why Malaysian non-Muslims make fun of Islam but we dont see such provocations from the other side?

First, forget about accusing me of distorting the harmony - somebody else does. I saw a series of provocations and insults on Islam, and although it is not my abit to pinpoint I shall this time, its mostly Malaysian Chinese who do it. I havent come across a Malay raper who makes fun of Christianity or Buddhism or Malay bloggers who ridicule Buddhism, Christianity, Taoism etc. It is hard to speak about racial harmony in Malaysia when most of Chinese are reluctant to condemn Namewee for what he did. To most he is a hero and many identify themselves with his lyrics. It is hypocritical to complain against Bumi rights and on the other hand insult and provoke. I wonder why such provocations only come from one side? Please exclude politicians, government and opposition, focus on the nation. Why provocations happen so often and why only from 1 side? What are those people up to? Im not talking about Yahoo! Answers. Im talking in general. Namewee is very Malaysian... Rhino, I didnt say ALL. Answer: It's fine for everyone to comments or complaint about government issues....but this guy have come to the extend that he insulting other races and religion in such way that can cause stir among Malaysians itself. You all know the contents and for Muslim, its very painful and shocks that this guy who hailed from Muar which is where you can see a lot of chinese speaks good malay (check on our ministers- alot of them from Muar) did this action. It's shocks me because I just start to admire his first youtube video before the insults song coming out. The majority Ordinary Malaysians like us, Malyasians like you & me and others got absolutely nothing! And suddenly we opt to choose to listen to a joker like Namewee to spread hatred among us? Now, you tell pathetric guy like Namewee to open his eyes and stop nagging and stop blaming on one certain race and our country. P/s - Oh ya, about the canteen operators? Do you know that besides Chinese, there are many Malay operators (who have been operating) have been kicked out too! They (cronies of UMNO) only give it to their relatives. Answer: Although I am a malay, I am an ordinary citizen just like any other races in Malaysia. I have never received any handouts and I never ask for help from UMNO or the government. Just like other people I need to struggle on my own just to survive living in this country. It is unfair to be stereotyped by race. Not all malay love working for the government. Not all malay are lazy sharks. The only person that truly benefits from the government are the multiracial chosen few of their own close circle. People like me? Its unheard of. Even if I ask for a small loan from the bank to start a business, I doubt I will get it. On the other hand, the chosen few who incurred billion of dollars debt were given more credit on top of their current debt to so called help them restart their business. Is it fair? No. That is the reality of living in Malaysia. I am getting tired of arguments about bumiputraship as well. The government should give this title to all malaysians. Then maybe, people like Namewee could rap about the reality of being a normal bumiputra citizen. Tell me if there is any difference. I do understand that Namewee is young. Answer: I've just seen the video with English subtitles today. Yes, it was insulting but it was not the first insult on Islam from the side of Malaysian Chinese, we've seen quite a number over the last couple of years. Like you said, he shouldn't have never crossed the line... I have this bad feeling that all these Chinese provocations will lead to their own destruction. The whole video is about Chinese ethnic cause. He just deepens the ethnic and religion division and suggesting that bribery is a Malay thing, while I can assure you as an objective witness, a foreigner, that there are good and bad people in evry race. Do you think that Chinese and Indian policemen don't take bribery? Come on! And do you think that non-Malay government servants work any faster than Malays? Wrong again. When I go to bank, I get fast service, no matter the clerk is Malay, Chinese or Dayak, while in government institutions clerks are slow, regardless of the race. It's bad culture that we need to combat, not a certain ethnicity. It's funny when I see Chinese being anti-foreigner, come on, remember where your grandpa came from! I wonder how would Chinese react if Malays burned a cross or peed on a Buddha and publish the video? Would they still find it funny? I doubt so. People like Wee Meng Chee are hypocrites: on one hand they complain when they feel mistreated, but they mistreat others. His video is bad, poor quality, poor design, again it has been confirmed that Malaysians like controversy. It's like Jasmine Ahmad's movies: they are boring, pathetic, bad cast, but people watch them because they are controversial. Anyhow, the damage has been done. I hope the Chinese will be smart enough to stop this trend before it grows into a bigger issue. Should he be jailed? No, but he should be warned about the issue and he should make a public apology. However, if he doesn't regret what he's done, I really don't care what happens to him.

Difference between National culture and national identity in short.?

Hey guys/gals, i am currently writng an assignment on Namewee ( a guy who had recently insulted his own national anthemn with a rap version), i am supposed to related it to national culture and national identity but i do not know the differene between the two. I just want to know what is the differences.
Answer: National identity is more of understanding what nationality you belong to. But national culture varies from generation to generation because of the so many factors that affect our realization on changes and the environment around each one of us. We were born with a national identity within a culture of the changing times. That is why your ancestors may have a totally different view of how you understand culture

I dont think I have to elaborate much, just wanna get your opinions/comments.
Answer: The leader of Perkasa is preparing for his political survival. In the coming general election, he will most likely contest the election as an independent. We all know it's extremely difficult for an independent candidate to win an election in Malaysia. By doing what he is doing now, he hopes the Malays will look up on him and vote for him. Perhaps deep inside he also harbours to be the PM one day. As for Namewee, he is a talented musician who uses music to vent out his anger. I also believe he is also trying to gain publicity for himself. See now he is coming out with an album.

If NAMEWEE is arrested and imprisoned, would you still be proud to call yourself a Malaysian?

After all, the song that he made up was reflecting on the truth... do you think that he truly deserves such hash (harsh) treatment? When Hattan made a slight err while singing the national anthem there was a big debate about it too, and it forced him to admit a mistake that he didnt do. At least, this guy here stands on what he did and it is absolutely NOT a racial issue. This song can be sung in any other languages but looking back at the lyrics, it is reflecting on the truth. If an Indian guy were to come up with a bhangra version of this, would you say that he is siding the Indians? I doubt so...
Answer: If the author of malaysia-today dot net being arrested while revealing the truth why not this Namewee got arrested too.
